Tour description

According to ancient tradition, Pompeii was founded by the Osci in the 8th century BC.
Following the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in the year 79 A.D., Pompeii lay buried for hundreds of years.
The site is the most visited in the world and the excavations, that begun in the 18th century, are still being carried out today.
Meeting point with your tour assistant at Sorrento train Station by the newsagent shop at 10:15 am, a 20 minutes journey will take you to Pompeii. Together with an official archaeological guide you will discover the ruins buried by the volcano’s eruption.
Finishing time approx. 01:30 pm.

The duration of the tour may change, according to traffic and weather conditions, and other reasons not depending on our company.

Cancellations and Responsibilities

For cancellations of any excursions given at least 24 hours prior to departure, a total refund will be given, less cancellation costs. No refund of any kind will be made to clients who miss departure or abandon the excursion once started. Lexa Viaggi whilst acting as intermediary between the travelers transport carriers and the hotel cannot be held responsible for any accident, delay and irregularity or loss of baggage and personal belongings, or any damage suffered by passengers by a third part or by “force majeure”, food, landslides, strikes, earth tremors.

Lexa Viaggi cannot be held responsible for any accidents or damage that may be caused by the explosive activity of the Volcano Vesuvius.

The excursion program is insured according to the art. 20 of the Italian law (17.03.1995)
