We arrive at the port, and whilst everyone makes their way towards the Funicular, that connect to Capri town, we make our way towards Anacapri, enabling us to get there in what will be a calm and quiet time. We make our way to the MIGLIERA, an ancient pathway towards PUNTA CARENA, where we will see the peasants working olives and lemons. From the MIGLIERA, we can decide to go up MOUNT SOLARO (for the very fit), go towards the pathway of the FORTINI BORBONICI (medium difficulty), or go to Anacapri by the VIA VECCHIA DEL FARO route.
All the itineraries end in Anacapri, and from here we proceed on foot in the direction of Capri town, utilizing a section of the ancient Phoenician steps, and a number of small pathways that shorten the walk. Once in Capri town, we visit the ancient Greek walls, hidden behind the Funicular’s terrace, and the ancient Greek agora (square), which today is the famous “PIAZZETTA”. It is a must to visit the town of Capri to understand and discover its Greek origins. We will then take a pathway from PUNTA TRAGARA as far as the PIAZZETTA DELLE NOCI to enjoy an amazing view looking down over the FARAGLIONI rocks, not so far from the hustle and bustle of the island. Another fascinating place is the CERIO museum, set up in an historical palazzo in the centre of Capri town, containing many of the island’s noteworthy exhibits, both of naturalistic and scientific interest, and a wonderful terrace looking over the maiolica clock tower of Capri .
Our return to the port will be down a pathway, linking Capri town with our embarkation point.
